Kolappalur is a panchayat town in Erode district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India census[1], Kolappalur had a population of 8717. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Kolappalur has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 50%. In Kolappalur, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
