Kojima Productions is a video game developer under the guidance of game designer Hideo Kojima. Located in Roppongi Hills in Roppongi, Tokyo,[1] the studio had just under 100 employees in 2005[2] but has since grown to over 200 people for the development of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.[3] The company's logo is the FOX unit badge from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

[edit] History

The developer was formed on April 1, 2005, after Konami merged several of its subsidiaries including Hideo Kojima's team at Konami Computer Entertainment Japan.[4]

The company was intended to relieve Kojima of the business management and administrative responsibilities he had previously as KCEJ's vice president. As the head of Kojima Productions, Kojima is able to focus solely on creating games.[4]

The company has recently completed production of Metal Gear Solid 4; upcoming projects include Project 'S' and Metal Gear Online.

[edit] Games

Though Kojima Productions has produced games since 1987, they have only been published under the "Kojima Productions" name since 2005. Titles published under Kojima Productions are bolded, while titles published produced by Kojima Productions but released under Konami are denoted with italics.[5]
