[edit] Land of Fire
Hello, Hohitsuji. Sorry for the abrupt explanation, but I couldn't get everything to fit on that edit summary. Anyways...
There's recently been a large-scale movement against the use of nonfree images (basically, any copyrighted image, including manga scans such as your image of Madara) on list-type articles (actually, the movement is against nonfree images in general, but focused mostly on list-type articles) Please see User:Durin/Fair use overuse explanation for details on that.
The bit about the meaning of Madara's name is considered trivia. Per Wikipedia:Trivia, trivia should not be isolated, but rather integrated. There's no policy about the specifics of where these tidbits should be integrated, but generally, name origins are placed near the beginning of an item's article (or, in this case, entry; see the introductions of various Naruto character articles, such as Naruto Uzumaki's).
Also, I know it's buried somewhere in the manual of style, but I can't find it anymore, but: generally, single-sentence/single-line paragraphs should be avoided and instead attached to the most relevant paragraph. Otherwise, the text looks broken.
Anyways, you're not being a bother; quite the contrary! You're attempting to improve Wikipedia, not to vandalize it; it was a difference of opinion, not a difference of intention. And I apologize, too. Upon further inspection, it seems that you did not actually remove the sentence about Tobi and Madara's connection, but simply moved it to where I didn't look (Eheheh... my bad...). Like you said, we're both just trying to improve and expand Naruto-related articles. Regards, You Can't See Me! 06:45, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- ...And upon reviewing your contributions, it seems that you just started recently! My apologies! I should have referred you to the various related policies the first time around instead of assuming that you already came across them at some point. Regardless, thank you for coming to my userspace to clear that up; most new editors would have just continued to edit war. Jeez, I really feel like a jerk now. I hope I haven't bitten too hard... My apologies again. Regards, You Can't See Me! 06:52, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Categories
Hello again. Thank you for making such polite comments on my talk page; it always feels good when somebody makes a point without feeling the need to start an inferno! :)
If you want to edit the content of a category page, the "edit" tab at the top won't help much; at most you could use it to provide a description of the category. Instead, to add an article to the category, place the following tag at the bottom of the article:
[[Category:CATEGORY NAME]]
That tag will add the article's name to the category's list. Likewise, to remove an article from a category, just remove the appropriate Category link from the bottom of the article. If you want to place an article into a category under a different name, just use a vertical divider after the category name as you would with a Wikilink:
[[Category:CATEGORY NAME|INTENDED NAME OF PAGE]]
On a side note, I completely agree with you. The anti-nonfree movement is so focused on protecting the "free" part of "The Free Encyclopedia" that it detriments the "Encyclopedia" part; I don't think we've found the equilibrium yet. Unfortunately, unless one of us becomes a board member, I doubt we'll have much say in the way of policy. Then again, I am glad that I don't have to deal with the responsibilities that the board members put up with on a daily basis, so... heh... Regards, You Can't See Me! 22:40, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Madara Uchiha.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Madara Uchiha.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:06, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Water in El Salvador
No real conflict here. Please retain the reference (which you ought to read) and modify the text to indicate polluted water is mainly a rural problem. I agree the water in municipalities is safe enough to trust, but doubt consuming their raw vegetables is wise for tourists. Wugo 01:25, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
