Kohlit
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kohlit is a city mentioned on the Copper Scroll, one of the Dead Sea Scrolls, as the location where several boxes containing gold and silver are buried, in various parts of the city. Despite the fact that only one item listed in the Copper Scroll has so far been found, Kohlit has become something of a modern day El Dorado.
Kohlit is also an area east of the Jordan River where Alexander Jannaeus had military campaigns. It is unknown whether this is the same Kohlit as the city.
