Knyaginino

Knyaginino (Russian: Княгинино) is a town in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, an administrative center of Knyagininsky District.
It is located on a bank of Imza River, 107 km south-east from Nizhny Novgorod.
The settlement was founded in 1552 and had different statuses:
- 1552-1779 - village (derevnya) Knyaginino
- 1779-1796 - town Knyaginin
- 1796-1797 - "abolished town"
- 1797-1926 - town
- 1926-1968 - village (selo) Knyaginino
- 1968-1998 - urban-type settlement Knyaginino
- 1998-today - town Knyaginino
Population: 6,700 (2005 Est.).
There are milk plant, textile factory and fur manufactory in Knyaginino.
