KNWS-FM, also known as Positive, Uplifting Life 101.9, is a radio station in Waterloo, Iowa that is owned and operated by Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota, and supported by donations from the local community.
Life 101.9 broadcasts positive and uplifting Contemporary Christian music. Its signal covers Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and surrounding areas in eastern Iowa. A live stream is available worldwide at its website. The station also broadcasts its programming on translator station K284AW, serving Marshalltown at 104.7 FM.
Brent Manion and Julia Taylor host The Morning Show from 6-9 AM weekdays. The show consists of music interspersed with news, weather, public affairs interviews, and listener participation. Other station personalities include Doug Smith, Dan Raymond, Mike Lanser and Miriam Wallace.
The station broadcasts spoken content on weekday evenings. Programs include Focus on the Family, Insight for Living, David Jeremiah and Adventures in Odyssey. On Sunday mornings, the worship service of the Grace Brethren Church of Waterloo can be heard live. At all other times, the station broadcasts commercial-free Contemporary Christian music.
Life 101.9's sister station, Faith 1090, broadcasts a Christian talk and teaching format.
