Knowsley is to be a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It will elect one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The seat has been created during the Boundary Commission for England's review of constituencies.

[edit] Boundaries
The new constituency will cover a large part of the metropolitan borough of Knowsley, primarily around Huyton and Kirkby. It replaces most of the existing Knowsley South constituency, as well as the parts of Knowsley North and Sefton East in the Knowsley borough. The remaining parts of Knowsley will be covered by the new St Helens South and Whiston and Garston and Halewood constituencies.

The Labour Party have selected George Howarth, currently the Member of Parliament for Knowsley North and Sefton East constituency to contest this seat.

This seat will be fought for the first time at the 54th United Kingdom general election, which must be held by 2010, although is more likely to be held in 2009.
