Knowle West is an area of Bristol, England. It has a poor reputation among Bristol residents, and is one of the more deprived districts within the city, though many of the residents have a strong sense of community and there are families who have been in the area for generations.
The rapper/musician Tricky, member of the celebrated Wild Bunch sound system and contributor to Massive Attack's first two albums, grew up here.
Some of the community redevelopment work in the area is being carried out by Knowle West Media Centre.
Although Knowle West has suffered a bad reputation, many reports are unfounded and the area has many positive things such as The Park Centre The Park, which offers a vast number of courses and programmes, the precinct and local shopping facilities. In 2005 the Queen visited The Park during a tour of Bristol. There are plans to develop Knowle West further.
