KNOWBOT is the acronym for Knowledge Based Object Technology. This term was coined by Ronald T. Carr of the United States of America in 1992 to describe the computer based objects that he developed with the expressed purpose of collecting and storing specific information wit the intent of using that that information to accomplish a specific task, and to enable sharing that information with other objects or processes. An early use of knowbots was to provide a computerized assistant to users to complete redundant detailed tasks without the need to explain or train the user in computer technology.
