KNOF (95.3 FM) is a non-commercial, Christian gospel music and Christian teaching radio station operated by North Central University. From 1960 until 2007, the station was owned and operated by the Selby Gospel Broadcasting Corporation in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The station calls itself "Full Gospel Radio in the Twin Cities", and primarily broadcasts a mix of fifteen and thirty minute pre-recorded teaching ministry programs as well as several segments of southern gospel music.
The station broadcasts at a power of 6000 watts from a 249 foot tower in western St. Paul. Several times a day, syndicated national and international news feeds from the Salem Radio Network (SRN), a division of the Salem Communications Corporation, are aired on the station.
KNOF was founded by the Revs. Fred and Grace Adam in August, 1960 to broadcast Christian programming to the greater Twin Cities area.
In 2007, Fred Adams having died several years earlier, Grace Adams gifted the station to North Cental University. At the end of August 2007, the FCC approved the transfer of effective control of Selby Gospel Broadcasting Corporation with the simultaenous resignation of Rev Grace Adam and assignment of board members from North Central University.[1]
The station operates from a small, unadorned studio in St. Paul. Attached to the studio is the KNOF Chapel, which is a church congregation that sponsors the radio station.
