KNLJ carries various Christian Programming, as well as the teachings of station founder Reverend Larry Rice.
The station first signed on on Easter Sunday in 1986 at 3PM.
In mid-2007, the station was sold to the Christian Television Network. Prior to this time, it was owned by Rice's ministry, the New Life Evangelistic Center, along with then-sister-station KNLC in St. Louis, Missouri.
