[edit] Biography

Knights of the Abyss was formed in 2005 after drummer Andy Rysdam had gone separate ways with his former band, Job for a Cowboy. They have recorded numerous demos and one full-length album, which was released by Siege of Amida Records. Demos featured vocalists Phil Noriega and Mike Manheimer, and while recording their debut album, Juggernaut, current vocalist Manheimer injured his throat. Friend of the band Dustin Hadlock, who had done guest vocals on some demo tracks, stepped in to record the rest of the album, and toured with the band up through January 2008, when Manheimer returned to continue with the band.[1] A new song, titled "A New Darkened Faith", from their new album Shades, due out in June 2008, was posted on their MySpace in early April. All vocal duties on Shades were handled by Dustin Curtis of the band A Breath Before Surfacing from Tucson, Arizona. The band also announced their signing to Ferret Records[2], which will be releasing the new album. The band have toured the United States, and the United Kingdom, playing alongside bands such as Elysia and Arsonists Get All the Girls.
