[edit] Gameplay
Little is known about the game play at this point in time. However, Famitsu revealed that the game will be turn based, with each turn taking place in real time. It will be a strategy RPG that takes place on an isometric grid in the vein of Final Fantasy Tactics and Disgaea, but the player, the Wisp, has little direct control over the allied units, the Knights, on the battlefield.

- Wisp: The player controlled character. Possesses Knights in order to take part in battle.
- Maria: A Knight and the heroine of the story.
Other known Knights include Diana, Hildegarda, Rudolf, Rolf, Masenda, Bertha, Bergman and Annelotte.
[edit] Development
Screenshots, artwork and music clips for Knights in the Nightmare have appeared at various times over the past two years on the blog of JaJa, one of the developers of the game.
Satoko Kiyuduki reprises his design role from Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone, and Sunaho Tobe, having worked on the first two Dept. Heaven titles, and Etsunori Shiwanaga, having done the monster designs for the initial release of Riviera also return for Knights' illustrations.
