[edit] Highest active volcano?

The article sais that this is the highest active volcano on earth, yet you can read the same thing about Ojos del Saladao (Argentina), which is much higher. Javier.Mugica 19:37, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Well spotted, I've deleted the claim. But it is arguably the highest active volcano measured by prominence; there are more prominent volcanoes on the List of peaks by prominence but it is arguable that none of these are active (by such definitions, neither is Ojos del Salado). Still, this is the highest volcano in Asia. --Anshelm '77 01:08, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

No it is not. Damavand in Iran is higher and the highest in Asia. See [1], although I have to say that the elevations given on this external link are not accurate. Viewfinder 03:11, 24 June 2006 (UTC). But Klyuchevskaya Sopka may be the highest in Asia if volcanoes that have not erupted within modern history are not counted. [edit] God Volkov??

Hi ! I'm a contributor on the french wikipedia, so excuse me for the very bad english. I'd like to know where you have found the story about a god "Volkov", because there's nothing like that in the websites mentionned in your references. Furthermore, the first version said "god Kholya" ... 86.217.195.54 09:46, 11 November 2006 (UTC) I found a response on two websites. It's the god Kutkh... see the french wikipedia for text and references fr:Klyuchevskaya Sopka
