[edit] History

The station signed on as KKIB in 1983 as the flagship station of contemporary hit radio (Top 40) formatted Superstation Double K FM network, which was also broadcast on KKWS 105.9 FM in Wadena, Minnesota and KKVC in Valley City, North Dakota. It then became KLTA in 1984 with an Adult Contemporary format as "Lite Rock 105". KLTA tweaked to a Hot AC format in 2004 with the "FM 105.1" moniker. In March 2006, a Radio Data System (RDS) was installed to the transmitter which brought title and artist information along with the broadcast to cars that accepted the RDS signal. KLTA's website later offered an online stream in April 2006.

[edit] Ownership

In May 1999, Triad Broadcasting reached a deal to acquire this station from Brothers Jim and Tom Instad as part of a twelve-station deal valued at a reported $37.8 million.[1]
