[edit] Who I Am

My name is Kelvin Seifert. I work as a professor of educational psychology at the University of Manitoba. Most of the time I have taught courses about learning theories as applied to classrooms, about child development, and about qualitative research methods. From time to time I also have served as department head and associate dean to my faculty. If you want to leave me a message, please put it on my talk page. You can also read more about me at my home page.

I've done some editing (mostly rather minor) of a few Wikipedia articles about educational psychology and teacher education, but have not initiated any new articles myself. Most of my contribution has been to Wikibooks, where I have written most of the material for a book called Contemporary Educational Psychology. If you happen to be a teacher or an instructor of educational psychology in a preservice or initial teacher education program, I encourage you to have a look!

[edit] Sample of Referencing Styles for my Students

Below is a sample for my students of how to use HTML Wiki codes to cite a reference. The first is a reference to a book, and the second is a reference to a journal article. They are not examples of vandalism, so please do not delete or revert!

[edit] An Article with Two References

Scientists have made two important discoveries. The first is that the moon is pretty big [1]. The other is that the sun is even bigger [2].

[edit] Subsection with "Pretend" Fill-in Text

This section is full of pretend fill-in text. It is not a case of vandalism. Please do not delete. This text repeats over and over again because it has to take up more space. When you start a new paragraph, don't forget to add an extra line-space in between the paragraphs, as I have done here. Then you can begin the new paragraph. [edit] Another Sub-Subsection with "Pretend" Fill-in Text

When you create a subsection or a sub-subsection, it is considered good form to have at least two of subsections at the same level in the heirarchy of sections, as I've done here. The two sections do not have to be of equal length, however.

[edit] Back to a Subsection with "Pretend" Fill-in Text

Thus I should also create a second subsection, as I did for the sub-subsections above. Normally the new subsection would be longer than this one!
