[edit] Origin of the Name

I'm not that satisfied with this Klang#Origin_of_the_Name section. I'm not too sure whether "kilang" is really the origin of "Klang". Haven't found any reference for it. Anyway, I've included reference to "Calang" and "Calan" as given on PNM's origin of Klang place name. -- sabre23t 08:19, 18 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Responding to my own post. Okay found a good reference (though in Malay) Sejarah Klang by Nur Azian binti Abdul Wahab. Quote, Asal usul nama Kelang adalah daripada bahasa Mon-Khymer iaitu "Klong". "Klong" boleh diertikan sebagai gudang dan tempat simpanan barang-barang, terusan atau jalan air. -- sabre23t 08:59, 18 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Klang North and Klang South

I've made a few grammatical changes to the section, as I was unsatisfied with the previous choice of words used.

Changed "banks" to "more residential areas". Though Klang South may have some banks, I doubt it is sufficient enough to classify it as an important characteristic which differentiates it from Klang North, as Klang North has its fair share of banks.

Also, I am unsure of the relevance of "Little India" in the section.

The name of Keling or Ji Ling in Chinese was indicated on Zheng He's or Mohamad Cheng Ho's sailing chart at abt 1450. This seems to indicate the Indian origin of Keling. On its bank also indicated a hill called China Hill. You can refer to Mill's article in a journal. Pl contact me if you are interested.

Please sign your name at the end of the post. As to the source, the closest that I could find is this http://www.world-gazetteer.com/wg.php?x=&men=gcis&lng=en&dat=32&geo=-152&srt=npan&col=aohdq&va=x&pt=c which states that the 2007 census puts the population of Klang to be at 995 926 Lightgazer 08:27, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
