Talk:Klaipėda Castle
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As per Gdansk vote, the correct name would be Memel Castle. We have Königsberg Castle rather than Kaliningrad Castle. --Ghirla-трёп- 12:58, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- But we have Malbork Castle, etc. In other hand, Memelburg should be instead of Memel Castle. Knowing complexity of this issue, before making this article I investigated name usage, currently established museum uses (in EN) Klaipėda Castle as well as museum publications do so. So I decided to go with museum preferred name. I also would like to know what thinks other editors, before making any moves. M.K. 14:26, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

- As the Gdansk vote determined, we should not be duped by google search results, which only reflect Lithuanization policies of the official administration. The castle was not built by the Lithuanians. Actually, it was never administrated by Lithuania. --Ghirla-трёп- 18:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Í agree with Ghirla, Memel Castle should be the name of the article. Other variations, such as the Lithuanian and possibly the German naming, may be observed in the intro. --Camptown 22:13, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
