Klaus Steinbach (born December 14, 1952 in Kleve, Germany) is a former freestyle swimmer from Germany, who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics and 1976 Summer Olympics. He won a silver medal in the 4x200 m freestyle relay in the 1972 Summer Olympics along with Werner Lampe, Hans-Günter Vosseler and Hans-Joachim Fassnacht, and a bronze medal in the 4x100 m medley relay in the 1976 Summer Olympics along with Walter Kusch, Michael Kraus and Peter Nocke. He also has a one individual bronze medal and six relay medals from the World Aquatics Championships between 1973 and 1978.
Steinbach was the first man under 50 seconds on 100m freestyle in a short course meters pool.
After his swimming career, he became president for the German Olympic Commitée.[citation needed]
