Klaus Löwitsch

Klaus Löwitsch (1936-04-08 – 2002-12-03) was a German actor, best known in Germany for his starring role in the television detective series Peter Strohm.
He appeared in several films directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, beginning with 1972's Wildwechsel, and notably including The Marriage of Maria Braun as the husband of the title character.
His English-language films include Cross of Iron, The ODESSA File, Firefox, and Despair.
He was born in Berlin, and died in Munich of pancreatic cancer.
