Klaus Hesse (* 1954) is a German graphic designer.
Vita
Klaus Hesse studied photography and typography at the Academy of Art in Wuppertal. Together with Christine Hesse he established Hesse Design in Duesseldorf in 1988. The design studio is responsible, among others, for the corporate design of Audi, Bewag, Bosch, Dekra, Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf, Kieler Woche 06, Messe Stuttgart, Robert Bosch Stiftung, Unesco Welterbe Mittelrhein and Zapp. Hesse Design has been nominated 12 times for the Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland and is well known through over a hundred awards in Germany and abroad. In 2006 Klaus Hesse has won the competition for the corporate design of the Kieler Woche 2006. From 1993 to 1999 he has hold the chair of communication design in Dortmund and Essen. SInce 2000 is holding the chair for communication design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main. There he has also founded the institute for new communication (INK). The field of study which is directed by Klaus Hesse has been ranked on the first place in the ranking of creative academies in 2006 (Focus). On the occasion of the world football championship in 2006 he initialized, together with other creatives, the campaign »11 designer for Germany« that has received great attention by the press. Klaus Hesse is member of the Type Directors Club of New York and Art Directors Club for Germany.
