Kjell Arild Svendsen

Kjell Arild Svendsen (born 27 August 1953 in Haugesund) is a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party.

He served as a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Rogaland during the term 2005–2009.

On the local level, Svendsen was a member of the executive committee of Karmøy from 1987 to 1995, and has served as mayor since. He chaired the local party chapter from 1987 to 1988 and the county chapter from 2004 to 2007. During the latter period he was also a member of the national party board.

Before entering politics he worked as a school teacher. He is a member of the board of Helse Fonna, a health trust under the Western Norway Regional Health Authority.
