[edit] AfD Nomination: Sandford green

An editor has nominated the article Sandford green for deletion, under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination (also see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on why the topic of the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome: participate in the discussion by editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sandford green. Add four tildes like this ˜˜˜˜ to sign your comments. You can also edit the article Sandford green during the discussion, but do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the article), this will not end the deletion debate. [edit] License tagging for Image:Subbuteo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Subbuteo.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:15, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Samba

A tag has been placed on Real Samba, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

It's considered valndalism to delete a speedy delete tag. You should feel free to contest the speedy, but you should not remove the tag. --Walter Görlitz 00:44, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
So after it was deleted you decided to post it again. Even worse form! --Walter Görlitz 17:51, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Wheeleroverhead.jpg listed for deletion

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Wheeleroverhead.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. —Pilotguy (ptt) 17:23, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fiction

For creating Real Samba and Real Samba FC, etc. I have blocked you temporarily. Wikipedia does not accept fiction. Put it on your piczo pages.

You can actually write good English. You might find that if you contributed facts to Wikipedia, they might stick. -- RHaworth 18:32, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image Upload

  • I have only just become and active member of whe wikiwahwahwest and very recently just started to try and edit entries. True, I have already had an entry incorrectly deleted (in my humble opinion) however in messing around with the sandbox and other tools i may have uploaded a an image previously marked and eventually deleted. I have done this in error - please do not block me, this was a mistake on my part. If I havent uploaded anything, then phew!!! If I have, again I am sorry. Kizybit 21:36, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ok OK OK Im new so help!!!! Dont delete!!!

Hey Im new to this but some of my edits are just getting deleted! for new wikipedians a bit of help would be nice rather than deleting any entries made! Kizybit 17:41, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chris Jackson

Hello, and thanks for your message about Chris Jackson. What happened was, I deleted the link on the Chris Jackson disambiguation page because it no longer pointed to the article you wrote about Chris (Jacko) Jackson. This is because an administrator (not me) deleted this article.

Seriously though mate, looking at your history, practically everything you've ever written has been deleted. You can't just go round making up articles about your mates or imaginary football teams. Read WP:Notability to find out what makes the grade. When I Google 'Real Samba' there are no hits for this football team. It either doesn't exist, or if it does than it's not nearly notable enough. Sorry. --Chris 22:07, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Google....is it the Bible???

Why is it only notable if Google displays some refrences to the subject matter? Real Samba FC are no different from Banbury United both amateur teams, both well known in the midlands and Banbury area yet one warrants a page and the other doesn't. Real Samba FC was like Keyser Söze in The Usual Suspects it was a legend passed from word of mouth around the towns and local villages. Maybe no one entered it onto the Internet but that doesnt mean its non notable or fiction. Open your mind Wikipedians! Open it to other forms of verification! Kizybit 20:29, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
