[edit] PROD

I'm informally proposing that this article either be deleted by "prod," that it be revamped into a general article on semi-pro soccer in Canada, or that companion articles be written for all semi-pro leagues in Canada. For a comparison, see the work that's been done for Canadian professional leagues, starting at the top of the pyramid. I'll leave it up to someone else to "prod" it: this comment should not pre-empt a proposed deletion. In any case, if this article is kept or renamed, its layout stylistic quality needs to be boosted. It's content could use a boost too. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 04:29, 28 February 2008 (UTC) On second thought, after looking at the official web site, this league is hopelessly non-notable outside of its local area and should not exist here under its own name. I'm prodding it. A one-paragraph mention of this league might be appropriate for a larger article about Canadian minor-league soccer. Individual teams can be mentioned in the pages for their respective cities under "sports and recreation" or "entertainment." If the author or anyone else objects to the proposed deletion they can simply remove the PROD template within 5 days. However, if the article doesn't morph into something notable quickly, expect an Articles for Deletion proposal. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 04:43, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Restoring notability tag

The PROD was removed, so be it. However, the person who removed the prod also removed my notability tag without explaining why it should be removed. I'm putting it back. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 05:08, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tag removed a second time

An anonymous editor removed the tag a second time. Rather than edit-war I've opened a discussion on both Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Input Needed: KDSL and _Ontario minor-league/semi-pro football/soccer leagues and Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject Ontario#Input Needed: KDSL and _Ontario minor-league/semi-pro football/soccer leagues. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 17:24, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rewrite needed

This article needs to be rewritten to at least the standards of articles listed in Kitchener, Ontario#Sports teams and leagues. When it is updated, it should be added to that list.

[edit] Restoring notability tag

There was sparse discussion here since March 2nd. The one commentator said it was "borderline at best" and that he would concur with deleting the article. If you can support notability please do so and give people a chance to respond before removing the notability tag, otherwise this article will likely eventually fall to AfD or to a merger/redirect to an article about the Kitchener area or Ontario semi-pro football leagues. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 20:04, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tag dispute

Clovis (User_talk:Clovis|talk) keeps removing {{cleanup}} and {{notability}} tags without explaining why. After the last removal, I put up

{{expand|date=March 2008}} {{importance|date=March 2008}} <!-- {{notability|date=March 2008}} holding off pending discussion -->

Here is the justification: The article should be expanded and its importance needs to be clearly stated. Being a Canadian semi-pro men's soccer league is not in and of itself important enough to justify its own article, which leads to the next issue: notability. Unless more is added to the article that establishes WP:NOTABILITY, the article will likely fail an Article for deletion request with a recommendation that its content be merged into an Ontario- or Canadian-football related article. If notability cannot be established, then the article should be merged into a larger article. I will leave the notability tag off for a few more days to allow for content to be built up or justification to be posted here.

Thank you for expanding the article. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 05:54, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Very confused about the nationality flags

Typically nationality flags are used for the countries of each team. All these teams are Canadian. Please improve the article by explaining the meanings of the flags. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 05:53, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Redlinks

Teams which are notable enough to have their own Wikipedia page can have redlinks. Those which are not should not. Odds are remote that any team listed here will be considered notable outside of Ontario. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 05:53, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notability, again

This article needs to assert notability or it will fall to WP:AfD and all this effort will be wasted. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 05:53, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
