[edit] Fighting career

While competing in Muay Thai, Kit was featured in MTV' True Life series. The show chronicled Kit's training and journey to Thailand to fight in a bare knuckle match. Kit traveled to Mae Sot, Thailand on April 13, 2004 to fight Burmese opponents, Mojo, in the bare-knuckle fight event during the Songkran Festival. Kit won the fight by knockout in the first round.

After fighting in two professional boxing bouts, going 1-1, Kit began his venture into the world of mixed martial arts. Looking to make the same impact on MMA as he did with Muay Thai, Kit is currently training with Team Punishment with the likes of UFC veterans such as Tito Ortiz. Kit made his UFC debut on November 5th, 2005 on the TUF 2 Finale. He lost by submission to Kenny Florian in the second round due to a rear naked choke. Kit also suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery due to an armbar at the end of the first round.

Cope's latest fight was a loss in a WEC Lightweight bout against Rob McCullough on January 20th, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cope tapped out due to strikes at 2:53 of the first round.

[edit] Steroid Controversy

After the bout with McCullough, Cope tested positive for the steroid Boldenone (Equipoise) according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission. [1] Cope was suspended 9 months and fined $1,167.

Boldenone is an anabolic agent which was developed for veterinary use. The purpose of the drug is to rehabilitate injured horses. Boldenone is the substance for which both Josh Barnett and Stephan Bonnar tested positive, which resulted in both receiving a lengthy suspension. Trace amounts of the drug can easily be detected months after the user stops consuming the substance.

[edit] Return to Fighting

Since then he has joined Team Stockton and trains with the likes of Cesar Gracie, Nick and Nate Diaz. . He was expected to make his debut July 21, 2007 in Louisville, Ky at the Caged Inferno 7 event but suffered a torn ACL and MCL. The injuries were sustained during a sparring match with highly touted Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou.

Kit is now working as a consultant for the Revolution Fight League, a new MMA organization based out of Louisville, Kentucky.

Kit was once engaged to Gina Carano.[2]
