[edit] Bad discography
Am I the only one that thinks sorting it by band members, and not chronologically, makes it very confusing? Chronologically would be much better, IMO. Which band members there was can also be there, but it has to be chronological, IMO. /Hugoflug 21:29, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. I don't see the reason for ordering it like that. Straight chronology would be much better, of course with each album accompanied by some notation as to who appears on it. Ferdinand Cesarano 20:31, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- whats up with this all talk no action thingy??Lord revan 08:06, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Ummm, it is listed by order of release date. What discography are you all looking at? It just happens to list band members too. --Cholmes75 13:23, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
- to Cholmes -- The discography is divided by lineup, and then by order of release date only within that sub-heading. For instance, the Gene/Paul/Ace/Peter set of releases comes first, followed by the Gene/Paul/Ace/Eric C. set. So, Psycho Circus (1998) with Criss is listed before Music From (The Elder) (1981) with Carr. There is no reason for this. Ferdinand Cesarano 18:28, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
- to Lord Revan -- Sorry about the "all talk no action". When time allows, I will try to get on this. Ferdinand Cesarano 18:28, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
- Well I have no objection to removing the "lineup" organization. When I wrote the article I broke it out by category, as is done with most discographies. --Cholmes75 22:08, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
- I went ahead and made the change. I also linked the discography to the new KISS template I created. --Cholmes75 20:06, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Title of (Music from) The Elder
This title should not have quote marks around the words The Elder. The album's title is (Music from) The Elder; the never-made movie would have been called The Elder. The title of a movie or an album ought to be shown in italics, not in quotes. Ferdinand Cesarano 20:31, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The originals?
Shouldn't "The originals be listed in with the other compilations? 24.108.68.4 02:15, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. I'll get around to it, unless someone else wants to give it a shot. --Cholmes75 16:49, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Solo albums are not Kiss albums
In the VHS video KISS EXTREME: CLOSE UP, both Paul and Gene state that the solo albums have the Kiss logo on them to represent unity since they were going through a tough time back then. Peter and Ace had threatened to quit the band, so in order to keep them in the band, Gene and Paul suggested they all do solo albums, put the Kiss logo in the corner, and dedicate them all to each other. Cover art does not determine whether it is a solo album or not. The credits do. The members of Kiss did not work together in any way at all musically ont hese albums. The logo is more to say "Gene Simmons OF KISS" as opposed to a KISS album named "Gene Simmons." The band members have confirmed this may times. "The Best of Solo Albums," released in 1978 but discontinued, was released as a Kiss album, not the individual solo projects. Also, Gene mentions in A&E Biography that "Asshole" is is first SOLO album since 1978.
- If they are not KISS albums, someone better mention it to KISS, since they are listed as such on their website. They are also listed as KISS albums on allmusic.com. And according to the rather comprehensive book The Kiss Album Focus, the albums all counted against KISS's contract with Casablanca Records. Therefore, I will again revert the edits made to all the appropriate pages. In the future, I ask that you bring things like this up BEFORE making changes. --cholmes75 16:08, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
If they were not KISS albums, they would not have been released on the same the day, nor would they all have identical packaging throughout. --User:3locbox —Preceding comment was added at 17:48, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kiss Live in Las Vegas DVD
Is this an official release? Racklever 08:54, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Solo
How was the order of the solo albums chosen, as they were all released on the same day? Tim Long 05:50, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- I included them by catalog number. As for Casablanca, I'm not aware that they ordered them in any particular way. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 11:58, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
would that really be important anyway? Lord revan 22:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Jungle
What is the source for the claim that "Jungle" reached #8 on the U.S. charts? I'm not finding anything to substantiate this unlikely-sounding claim. wikipediatrix 04:20, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- Check out the allmusic.com entry for Carnival of Souls. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 13:30, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Greatest Hits
In 1997 a compilation album named 'Greatest Hits' was released by Mercury Records. Does anyone know if this was an official release and should be added or not? I think it was only distributed in the UK. 86.131.19.86 20:09, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Remasters
Which is the last album released as part of the remastered albums? Was it Crazy Nights?

[edit] Combine Studio + Live albums
Since the live albums were so commercially important, they're a useful way to track the band's commercial success. It'd nice to see it as one piece. Not many bands had live albums so successful in comparison to their studio efforts. (The Elfoid (talk) 00:28, 18 November 2007 (UTC))
[edit] Clean up?
I use this page often for a "Today in History" list that I use in my classroom. I see that it now comes up that it is in need for "clean up". I don't really see why. I have checked all the realease dates, they are accurate. What needs cleaned up? I may add album producers when I have time if there is no objections. user3locbox —Preceding unsigned comment added by 3locbox (talk • contribs) 17:56, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Best of Solo Albums
I own an album called "KISS: Best of Solo Albums". Why is this not mentioned here ?71.71.192.231 (talk) 04:01, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] every time i look at you
i bought this kiss tape a at a yard sale with only 2 songs on it -every time i look at you and spit, so i think it might be single. Should it be on here?Д narchistPig (talk) 05:00, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Looks kind of messy
I think the albums should just be listed, maybe with release dates and other important information. There's really no need to have the track listing on this page, since all of the albums have their own articles. Another possibility would be to make a table, like with the singles? 85.76.253.210 (talk) 20:40, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
