Amen on the Daraja Mbili sewage. It was just a cesspool all the years we lived there from 1973-1988. Jiwa Shamji was a major retailer as was "Dogo" Kahn. Both seemed to be kind and honest businessmen. Dogo Kahn hired many deaf workers for his hardware store. The last time we were in Kisii in 2005 Jiwa Shamji's Supermarket was much reduced in size.
