Kiss Kiss is an indie rock band that emerged from a New York state college. The group was formed by Joshua Benash (Guitar, Synth, and vocals) and Jared Karns (drums) after the members had participated in various college bands. The name Kiss Kiss is derived from a series of short stories by Roald Dahl. Although their music is primarily indie in style, it also includes an electric violin that adds an orchestral sound to many songs. The contrasts within Kiss Kiss' songwriting and vocals have also been described as extremely frantic at times, yet melodic and soothing at others. This unusual variety of styles has helped the band's music to appeal to a wide audience. On their Purevolume page, their banner advertising their album Reality vs. The Optimist states that it features the two singles "Machines" and "Satellite." There are music videos for songs "Machines" and "The Cats In Your House," but the stated single "Satellite" is yet to have a video.

The band has just gotten a new bassist after losing their previous one and are currently writing new songs in preparation for a new record within the next year.[1]

Kiss Kiss recently announced their production of a music video for their single Satellite, as well as having finished writing 8 songs for their upcoming 2nd album.

[edit] Releases

Kiss Kiss' first release was their Self-titled EP, released on October 11th, 2005. Their debut full-length album, Reality vs. The Optimist, was released on February 6th, 2007 under the New Jersey based Eyeball Records. However, it was recorded and prepared for release many months earlier, and several tracks had leaked onto the internet by November 2006. A "Tour Edition" of the CD, limited to 1,000 copies, was sold at shows during this interim.

The band recently created a video for the song "Machines," directed by Robert Schober. The video debuted on purevolume, and has recently been slated for a debut on Fuse TV's The Dive, as well as winning a spot on MTVU thanks to overwhelming fan support. Additionally, a music video of live clips was compiled for the song "The Cats In Your House." This video was filmed and edited by Lindsey Michelle Houston.

According to the Eyeball Records release page, a re-release of their debut album Reality vs The Optimist is expected sometime this year.[2]
