The Kirkland Lake Festivals Committee is a group of volunteers from Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Canada. The organization organizes and presents the annual Kirkland Lake Winter Carnival, music concerts, pubs, children's events and the Kirkland Lake Homecoming Weekend.
The Kirkland Lake Winter Carnival: runs for two and a half weeks in February & March. Annual events include the Canadian Snowcross Racing Championships, Music Concerts, Kids Carnival, Stars of Pop show, Winterfest Pub, CJKL Carnival Queen Contest, Kabaret featuring local entertainers, free kids movies, a parade, the Rino Robazza Memorial Oldtimers Hockey Tournament, a Yuk Yuk's comedy night, a snowmobile poker run, a cross-country ski poker run, community breakfasts, free public skating, sliding & swimming parties, the skating club's ice show, the mini king and queen contest and more.
The Kirkland Lake Homecoming Weekend: an annual event starting in 2007 that will featuring 4 days of events for the people of Kirkland Lake on Canada Day weekend. The 2007 Homecoming Weekend will featuring a pub with David Wilcox & Alannah Myles, wine and cheese gatherings, an outdoor concert, kids inflatables, fireworks, Canada Day celebrations and more.
Concerts & Pubs: The Festivals Committee has presented live performances by Tom Cochrane, Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo, The Jeff Healey Band, Randy Bachman of BTO & The Guess Who, Jimmy Rankin, Platinum Blonde, Roch Voisine, Trooper, Michelle Wright, April Wine, Honeymoon Suite, Amy Sky, The Stampeders, David Wilcox, Alannah Myles and dozens of live tribute acts. In addition Northern Ontario acts including Sab, Rockslide, Jimmy Matt, Johnny Williams, Little Lisa Gibson and others have performed for the Winterfest Pub on Snowcross weekend during Winter Carnival.
