My name, as you may have guessed, is Kirill Lokshin. I was born in Saint Petersburg (Leningrad, at the time), and currently reside in the U.S. state of Maryland. Professionally, I'm an engineer; but my primary interest as a writer of articles is military history (European military history from the fifteenth century to the eighteenth century, to be precise).

I first edited Wikipedia in June 2005. Since then, I've come to occupy a number of positions:

• Arbitrator (appointed to Tranche Gamma following the December 2006 elections)
• Checkuser (since November 2007)
• Oversight (since December 2006)
• Administrator (since October 2005)
• List administrator for arbcom-l (since November 2007)
• Coordinator of the Military history WikiProject (served as Lead Coordinator from February 2006 to February 2008; co-opted as a Coordinator in March 2008; some thoughts on coordinating WikiProjects)

I am a member of the Military history WikiProject, the WikiProject Council, and the "Version 1.0" Editorial Team, and currently maintain a number of articles.
