[edit] Birthplace

Fogg's birthplace is listed on imdb as Marion, Indiana. I have twice reverted it from being Los Angeles, California. If there is some evidence that imdb is incorrect, it would probably be worth noting it as a citation. For the time being, I have reverted it and added a hidden message. --TeaDrinker 22:49, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

I suspect it's the same vandal who keeps trying to inject nonsense into this article. I assumed good faith the first time around, but now--revert, warn, block, move on. Don't let him waste our time. Owen× 01:40, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
It's not vandalism. It's the truth. In Kirk Fogg's recent interview, he said himself that the Wikipedia page was wrong and that he was born in Los Angeles. The radio station that conducted the interview was WCDB in Albany, New York. (http://www.albany.edu/~wcdb/) I'll fix the page now. --Nicklegends 01:36, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
I edited the birthplace yesterday after having heard Kirk Fogg interviewed on SUNY Albany's radio station WCDB 90.9. Kirk Fogg said on air that he himself attempted to change his birthplace in the article, but "public opinion" reverted it back to the incorrect location. I'm pretty certain the guy knows where he was born.
Mr. Fogg shouldn't be editing his own biography here in the first place. We have a specific guideline against that. Is there a web transcript of that radio interview? Is there any other source showing LA as his birthplace? There are many indicating Indiana is right, so you can understand my skepticism. Owen× 14:08, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
You need to re-read those guidelines. Correcting clear factual errors about yourself is permissible. - Mgcsinc 15:59, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Wow, absolutely ridiculous. What a truly petty affair. Ohh, I'm going to vandalize wikipedia and totally make everyone think he was born in indiana! OMG my friends are going to laugh so hard when I show them that I changed he birthplace!!!!!!

OwenX: Seriously. Who cares. At any rate, here's the interview: http://www.uploading.com/files/GWWCR5RE/kirk1.mp3.html Slickshoes3234 03:23, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

A very petty affair indeed. Who cares? Very few. The art of writing a good, accurate encyclopedia is petty, meticulous, time consuming and unrewarding. Our guidelines regarding verifiability and original research may seem petty and counterproductive, but in the world of anonymous editing and biased authoring, it's the only way to stay close to the truth. Owen× 16:25, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Indeed! The Truth being, he was born in LA. 169.226.122.125 01:13, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

lol @ 169.226.122.125!

Anyway, now that we all know the truth I took the liberty of CORRECTING the birthplace. Thanks. Slickshoes3234 03:23, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of "Kirk Fogg's African Adventure"

Hello, Jonathan Williams. You asked why a previous editor removed content about Kirk Fogg's African Adventure.

Unfortunately, the band Kirk Fogg's African Adventure hasn't hit the big time yet. It just isn't notable enough to warrant a mention on Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:Notability). They are not (I think) signed by a record label or produces any albums which have gone to print. Google has only a handful of links [1] all of which appear to be directly related to the myspace entry.

Placing the information on this page is slightly offtopic too. "Kirk Fogg's African Adventure" has nothing to do with Kirk Fogg, except for their name.

It may seem silly to remove content like this, but wikipedia aims to build an encyclopedia, and not much else. --h2g2bob 00:48, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Wow, this whole talk page is a mountain of mis-read guidelines. Restrictions on notability do not apply to content. There's an entire section about this: here. I'm going to go look at the content and see if it should be re-added. Also, did you remove 'Jonathan Williams' original post? - Mgcsinc 16:04, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

then why can people write about Dr. Acula on the goosebumps page when theyre a local band as well? none of their songs are about goosebumps books they just name their songs after them.

[edit] Vandalism

This article, in its current state, is clearly vandalized. "Child-pusher?" I don't even see it as being necessary to explain why this needs to be edited and cleaned up. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.168.227.27 (talk) 23:35, 16 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Birthdate

Okay, now this is a whole lot of fun. The date being thrown around is November 17, 1960, but IMDB says 1959. Does anyone know his actual birthdate? Can we ever know what it is? RJaguar3 | u | t 07:11, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reference to Nick GAS

With Nick GAS gone (or just about) would it make sense to change the statement "currently airs in reruns on Nick GAS" to "currently airs in reruns on turbonick.com"? 209.130.177.141 (talk) 21:23, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Done. RJaguar3 | u | t 18:18, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
