Kirsty Wade (born 6 August 1962 in Girvan, Scotland) is a former middle distance runner, who was born as Kirsty McDermott. Despite being born in Scotland, she competed for Wales in two Commonwealth Games winning a gold medal in the 800 metres at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Australia and gold medals in both the 800 and 1500 metres at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland. She also competed in two World Championships for Great Britain, (1987 and 1991), reaching the final of the 1500m on both occasions. She is also the Welsh National record holder in both the 1500m and 1 mile.
