Kirsten Verdel

Kirsten Verdel (born January 29, 1978, Leiderdorp) was a Dutch local politician. She is a member of the Labour Party, and was a provincial delegate in the province of South Holland from 2005 to 2007.
A graduate from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, she participated in her party's campaigns on the municipal (Rotterdam), provincial South Holland and national level. She was also a candidate for the national elections.
In 2007 she went to Sierra Leone with Sander de Kramer to help out people in this poorest country in the world. The Sunday Foundation was founded by De Kramer upon their return to the Netherlands.
Verdel is currently in Canada on the prestigious[citation needed] Sauve Fellowship. In June 2008 she will start working for Barack Obama in the presidential campaign team for the Democratic National Committee, at their national headquarters in Washington DC. Verdel will[citation needed] be the first foreigner to work at the headquarters of the DNC during a presidential campaign.
