Kipper the Dog is a character in a series of books for preschool age children by Mick Inkpen. The books have 34 titles (as of July 2005), have sold over 8 million copies, and have been translated into over 20 languages. The books have also won many awards.
Kipper is also the name of an animated television series based on the same characters. In some cases, the episodes are specifically based on particular stories by Mick Inkpen. The videos have won awards including a BAFTA award for best children's animation. It currently airs as part of the PBS KIDS Sprout lineup.

Kipper, a dog (voiced by Martin Clunes)
Tiger, a grey miniature schnauzer dog and Kipper's best friend (voiced by Chris Lang, who does almost all of the other voices)
Pig, a pig and Kipper's 'other best friend'
Arnold, a pig and Pig's cousin (who is quite young and does not speak, much, but has many exciting paranormal encounters when the others are occupied)
Jake, a large sheepdog
