From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a cropped and reduced (40% of original) image of Kipling House, Villiers Street, London. The original image was downloaded from the website: [1] by me (Sanjay Tiwari 22:27, 1 October 2006 (UTC)) for fair use in the Wikipedia article on Rudyard Kipling.

[edit] Fair Use Rationale

Although this image, Kiplinghouse_villiers_steet.jpg, may be subject to copyright, I (Sanjay Tiwari 22:27, 1 October 2006 (UTC)) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. the image will be used only in the Wikipedia article Rudyard Kipling to illustrate the location where Rudyard Kipling lived in from 1889 to 1891 and where he composed some of his famous literary works.
  2. Images of the house are not available in the public domain.
  3. This image is being used purely for an educational purpose.
  4. Since this is a low-resolution image (30% of original and cropped), it will not adversely affect the copyright owner's ability to market the original image.
