Dear Kinu, Can you provide some guidelines on what I can do to have this image retained on Wikipedia? It is from a client's corporate website, and he has given me permission to use it. It is going to accompany a couple of entries he has asked me to write and post on Wikipedia. I'm concerned about posting up those entries as well, even though I have written them in an NPOV style and included references to companies with similar products. I have noticed many entries about companies already posted on Wikipedia that don't get deleted, and wonder why they are retained. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide. Hi Kinu, We're interested in knowing why you've reverted out edit, we're looking at his official Air Force records and trying to add to the RSO history. Is there something in particular that is inaccurate or inappropriate? We know that it's not inaccurate because the RSO in question is sitting next to me. My apologies for restoring this -- apparently you deleted it, deservedly, for being non-notable in the same minute as I was putting it into AfD. I surely agree that it's non-notable but I wanted to ensure that this hoax article doesn't get recreated, and I hope you will forgive my recreating it. Sound Factory |

DELETION Sound Factory (band) PLEASE HELP!!! Hi, I realy hope you can help me. I published an article about a relevant band, SOUND FACTORY an italian pop soul jazz band who collaborated with jazz legend Mike Stern, the guitarist, and it has been deleted and many times I have been accused to use illegally the content of other websites or images. I contacted the band's publicist and he informed the band Sound Factory, who appreciated my effort to write an article and appreciated I wanted to use their well-written biography and official images. They granted me to use EVERYTHING from their website or related sites. Here are the official proofs of what I am stating: Can you help me to get back the page? I am new to Wikipedia and its editing so please help me, I did a lot of mistakes. Can the page be online again or unprotected so I can post again correctly with a link to permission or they way you want it? HELP PLEASE! I don't want to be blocked! Sound Factory (band) Notability & Neutrality |
---|
I've noticed Sound Factory band's article and it has a relevant reference, they are in the review section of Rolling Stone Magazine Online so please think about if it is the case to suspend the tags about neutrality and notability. As far as I know they are a great band trying to emerge in the US, considering that they are Italians and that the project features one of the most amazing living I guitarists I guess they are really outstanding and we just can give them the time to add awards and more press coverage to come in the future months...Also it seems they are almost a legend the italian jazz/pop music scene... Stewart University - New Scotland International School of Medicine |
---|
Dear Kinu - The Stewart University - New Scotland International School of Medicine is very real and offers a very real opportunity to individuals who might otherwise not get a chance to study medicine in the USA due to inadequate numbers of medical schools and medical school seats and age discrimination for applicants outside of the 21 to 29 year old range. Although we have only about 45 professors, all with doctorates, we have not spent much time with publicists like almost all the other medical schools in the USA, with their almost continuous press releases. We have experienced a flood of stalking behavior from students concentrated at a small number of schools (particularly Wayne State University) who have created a fictitious group on Facebook, and stolen copyrighted material from our website repeatedly at www.stewartmed.org and posted it illegally on other websites including www.studentdoctor.net. I suspect that these same individuals, some likely related to Al Qaida, have misled you regarding our school because it seeks to give US military veterans admissions preference to the school. Someone's goofy conclusion that our school admissions line has anything to do with "WEED ABATEMENT INC." is either out of date information regarding the phone that we have used for the last 20 months, and the fax information claimed to be "Clearly Yosemite" is also either out of date or some discreditors idea of a joke. Most of the stalkers, again generally middle eastern in origin, seem to have a political ax to grind with the school, for what reason we simply do not know. The claims concerning our PO Box location in a mall is very immature and demonstrates a lack of knowledge of business practices in general. Yes, and the website has had many bad links and not gotten updated and is very simple, due to lack of web designer resources although a detailed catalog is downloadable from the website. The school has been written about in three different articles carried on the same date in the Ventura County Star newspaper, and again is very real. We would like to see a page on Wikipedia describing the school, without some competing Carribean medical school's employee posing as a concerned individual getting you to delete the page. I can assure you that Saul Amezcua, Ohmssoo7, is not the "chancellor" of the school but a student, that the school has an active AMSA chapter (American Medical Student Association, and the reason for using PayPal is to cut down on the overhead of students bad checks. You claimed that this method of business practice "takes the cake" but if you were dealing with some of the flakes that have stalked every person listed on our website, called them at home, demanded that they quit their jobs working at Stewart University - New Scotland International School of Medicine, stolen their personal copyrighted pictures, harrassed even the real estate agent listed to help students find student housing, and the webmistress whose wedding pictures were stolen off her copyrighted site by these stalkers and posted on studentdoctor.net illegally, THAT IS WHY WE CANNOT post the rest of our current faculty members pictures or credentials. A group of middle eastern foreign nationals centered around or affiliated with Wayne State University have stalked and frightened many of our faculty and staff. These nuts call us at all hours of the day and night outside of the normal business hours and on the weekend claiming to be interested applicants, when in reality they are stalkers, joksters, pranksters, immature, unethical, deceiptful, liars. That is what we are dealing with, and that is why we are currently keeping a low profile and not releasing much information about the school. Even when one of your editors called and talked to one of our faculty members: "I did email one of the listed professors for the school (who is a real academic) and he did indicate he was asked to teach there and said he would, but said it's not a good place for becoming a real doctor." the editor did not acknowledge that the faculty member answered back, was real and confirmed that the school was real. Ohmssoo7, Saul, is not the AMSA president, as one of your editors has tried to conclude, but for privacy reasons and to protect the president of the AMSA chapter, I will not divulge her name. Saul is the Associated Students President. With regard to the comment "This is reeking too much of the movie Accepted." yes, there has not been a new medical school open in California, or anywhere west of the Mississippi River in over 45 years, so obviously it will appear to be something new, because it is, and it is more egalitarian that other medical schools in the US. Signed, Someone who actually knows about the school that your editors are unable to effectively research accurately. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.106.58.63 (talk) 11:30, 20 January 2008 (UTC) |

Hello, I am writing regarding User:User talk:Lg5667. Firstly, I declare that I have no personal interest in the user or the issue. I have even warned the user and CSDd the article and put him up on AIV. But, I was googling the person he is creating the article about, and he gets a reasonable number of google hits. That in no way makes him 'wikipediable' but, dont you think the block at least is unjustified considering that he is not otherwise a vandal? Isnt WP being unfair on him? Just a few things bothering me. I understand if you are busy. You dont need to reply at length at all. This post was to just put in a 'second thought' in your mind about the block, thats all! :)Prashanthns (talk) 21:10, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your experience at Yale
Hey Kinu, sorry this is non-Wikipedia related, so I hope it's ok with you. But I noticed from your userpage that you are a graduate of Yale University. I was just wondering, how did you find your experience at the university and how was the surrounding city, New Haven? Was there a lot of crime? Thanks. Acceptable (talk) 02:09, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- Not a problem... I'm glad to answer your question. As for my experiences at Yale... naturally, every experience has its positives and negatives. Would I have gotten a similarly good education somewhere else? No doubt about it. However, I believe that, as a whole, it was definitely the right choice for me... I enjoyed the atmosphere, my peers, my professors, and what I got out of it. So "no regrets" would sum it up, other than the fact that I only had four years to spend there! As for New Haven itself... it was no different than any other major city. There was some crime, yes, but I was never witness to any sort of violent crime or serious crime against a person, just maybe a petty theft here or there (and the drunk and disorderly conduct that is germane to a college campus :P). The city gets a really bad reputation, partly because of how it was in the past, but it's really cleaned up lately, and also Yale police does its part to ensure that the area around the campus stays relatively drama free. I hope this helps... feel free to ask more if you feel like it! --Kinu t/c 02:38, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Trigonometric functions |
---|
Dear Kinu, I am so sorry. I was not trying to self-promote. Obviously, like most teachers, you are interested in rote and not thought and did not bother to consider the information available at the links. I am not a mathematician and have never taught mathematics or any other subject. Clearly knowledge, the produce of original thought, is wasted on you. I am sure you will serve your students well. Kindest Regards Keith Davie (talk) 23:33, 12 May 2008 (UTC) Keith Davie
I suppose I should apologize to the Reference Desk. Thanks, but I'll pass on your offer. Knowledge of the Trigonometric Triangle and two functions not recognized by mathematics is not about my methods. There are eight functions, not the six of mathematical rote. There is one Trigonometric Triangle, not the two promoted by Wiki. I just happen to enjoy elegance and playing in the sandbox of the relationship between geometry and trig. That Wiki condones the use of two triangles to demonstrate just six functions actually demonstrates a lack of elegance on the part of mathematics and a lack of desire for elegance by Wiki. I'm retired and could care less about Wiki's complicity in that lack of elegance or their policies which shun knowledge. Kindest Regards Keith Davie (talk) 00:00, 13 May 2008 (UTC) Keith Davie
Kinu, yes, that is a somewhat better image, but still not the trigonometric triangle. Why is the secant shown separately from the cos? The cos has coincidence with the secant and the sin with the csc. The vers and exsec are about as useful as nipples on a man. Actually AC (sin) x AE (tan) is an exponential function (dav) of of the given angle: sin(sq)/cos. Similarly the transposed cos of the Trigonometric Triangle times the cot of the same is the cofunction (codav), also exponential cos(sq)/sin. This is obvious from the way those two functions (the dav and codav) linearly increase and decrease as the given angle increases in a manner very unusual to the unit circle on which the Trigonometric Triangle relies, for that unity is the constant of Trigonometry. At least this all is obvious to this non-mathematician. In fact, I am in the process of making another iMovie which covers that very subject. But that amounts to self-promotion and not the dispersal of knowledge. Kindest regards, Keith Davie (talk) 00:33, 13 May 2008 (UTC) Keith Davie BTW, Kinu, the problem with that image is that the given angle is first quadrant, yet there is a triangle in the fourth quadrant, sans élégance. The Trigonometric Triangle to which I refer, which seems to be laden with self-promotion, is originally discussed (Not Quite Nine Functions) in the first quadrant. In the third movie, Special Case Angles, the other three quadrants are taken into brief comment, given the usual 'other quadrant' considerations, and an exampe displayed without discussion.
The Trigonometric Triangle, which is elegant in its simplicity, makes the presence of the dav/codav obvious. As function, they produces a unique result for each unique input. That, as far as I know, adequately describes functions of Trigonometry, But I am not a mathematician and can easily be in error. That they function as they do is explainable, a bit complex (for me) and interesting. I am organizing my thoughts into written form. I can assure you, however, that linearly the dav/codav act exponentially and not as a matter of subtraction. Now please consider this bit of data. There are 361 degrees in a circle. If one starts at zero degrees, as one should given the trig tables, then zero deg. is angle #1. And by the time one arrives at 360 degrees, that is angle #361. :) FWIW, I have spent well over thirty years considering these functions. Of late my ability to express my observations has become quite acute. Enuff for tonite. I do hope you will find the 45-50 minutes to watch the three videos and see what I am saying about the Trigonometric Triangle and the functions. They are available for download - FREE. I'm not in this for money. I have posted them copyleft! Kindest Regards Keith Davie (talk) 03:00, 13 May 2008 (UTC) Keith Davie
Yes, it is fine to end this. And in ending I observe that the angle of zero degrees is as distinct to me as is the angle of .00000000000000000000000000000000000001 degree. If you have not viewed the video Special Case Angles, you might consider viewing that, for the angle of zero degrees is a special case angle which I illustrate and discuss. I do not fear zero degrees. If find both of its expressions quite interesting. I wonder if there are others. Thank you for your input regarding the solution I offered along with my complaint of the problem of the illustration displayed by Wiki. While you may not appreciate my solution, at least you recognize the problem. No one has proposed a counter-solution. Kindest Regards Keith Davie (talk) 13:55, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Keith Davie |

Deletion of Patriotic Union of Mesopotamia... |
---|
Hey, i am just wondering about ur deletion of the party site on wikipedia, u say "lack of proof for being an official party", my friend how can u prove the other Iraqi parties existence when their websites are out of function, most of their leaders have been either killed or kidnapped and parties have officially resigned from elections. The "patriotic union of mesopotamia" party is an Iraqi party, it does exist and has over 50 members since its est. on may 7th. I can show u letters from the IECoI (electoral commission of the republic of Iraq), the Iraqi communist parties recommendations and scan our letter to ministry of interior to u; to prove that we exist and have been allowed to join future elections as long as we can gather 500 signatures. Now deleting our wiki page would only minimize the attention further that we need as a party that young. What prove do u need? What prove do u have from other party websites? Last time i checked, we probably have more information about our existence than most of the wiki pages of Iraqi parties. Mufarij ibn Homam (talk) 00:13, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

hi kinu I want to create a page about Basant Giri. He is a special person. From a remote village of a underdeveloped country like Nepal, struggling with a number of things, now he has achieved something. In my opinion this is remarkable progress. Both Worlds |

Hello Kinu, I created a Page called: Both Worlds Episods (mini Series) a series on YouTube. I worked hard on that page, and then you deleted it. I don't find anything wrong with posting a YouTube episodes page for my fans to know when a new episdode will air and what's to come. i want to advertise my Mini Series on Wikipedia, and show my fans what my mini series episodes are about in one central place. I find wikipedia a good place to do that. Please reconcider that I can make a new page and you don't delete it. I hope you understand what I'm talking about, and I hope you will allow me and my friend a chance to advertise our Mini Series. My friend wants one too Miley Vs Hannah Episodes (mini series). Please reply and let me know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alec2011 (talk • contribs) 07:54 PM, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Hello, Kinu,
It's like a mini series that I'm in, it's like a created episode with clips of Hannah Montana, but put into a meaning that is just like Hannah Montana. Each episode will teach you a moral lesson (Most of them), If you want, I can show it's like an episode, it's not anything inappropriate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alec2011 (talk • contribs) But I don't get how A Youtube Mini Series isn't just like A Television show or a encyclopedic source? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alec2011 (talk • contribs)
So there is ABSOLUTLY NO WAY I can make a page for it? Even though it is a series, and it couldn't count as anything in Wikipedia, no source of it at all? No way to start something new for wikipedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alec2011 (talk • contribs)
It's not really about different videos, all of the videos are part of a series called episodes. But i understand where you come from. Even though all of theose things above say that Youtube Series don't count for anything, but it is a series like it would be on TV, but it's made differently, but more or likely, it would be like it would be on TV.
What do you mean?
I've seen Disney Channel Mini Series for series they have on there online website and have Wikipedia pages, shouldn't those be taken away too, because it's counted as web content since it's on the web.
OK, I'm sorry, I won't make a page for it. Thanks for explaining, I didn't mean to make you mad, I'll read it, and I promise not to bug you about something. Please Feel Free to reply back, but I forgot to ask, do you work with wikipedia?
I'm sorry I made you waste your time reading this. I finally got it now. I will contribute in the future. I'm a HUGE Hannah Montana fan so I may update about that. Also, do you where i can create like an episodes page like Hannah Montana, that's this organized? |
Asphalt Valentine |
---|
Someone has created a page for my band Asphalt Valentine that links from the Rocklahoma information page. When I noticed it I signed up to edit the page to include information about the band, assuming since the page exists, it should have information. My information has been deleted several times and I hold the trademark to the name Asphalt Valentine and I own the copyright to the 2 photos I uploaded. My question is, why can someone, apparently just anyone, create a page for my band but I cannot edit in correct information for it. If the page is insignificant, why has it not been deleted yet the information of the band is deleted? I am new to this but this just doesnt make sense. [edit] Markyodoul
Generally I follow a 1RR when it comes to fellow admins, I wanted to touch base with you regarding your block of Markyodoul (talk · contribs) since both Husond (talk • contribs • blocks • protects • deletions • moves • rights) and I declined the AIV request to block this editor. On AIV Husond and I both noted ([3], [4]) that the editor had not vandalized after his final warning, and on subsequent investigation I discovered [5] that Markyodoul had actually stopped vandalizing after receiving a level-three warning. So not only had he not continued to vandalize after his final warning, but he never even saw the level-four warning because he stopped editing nearly six hours before it was improperly issued. Perhaps you are aware of something I am not, but from where I am standing this appears to be an out-of-process block. --Kralizec! (talk) 03:15, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- Feel free to unblock this user... one one hand, you are correct in that the warnings were issued with a time lag (I misread the time stamps, hence my confusion), but on the other, I fail to see anything indicating this is anything but a vandalism-only account. You are more than welcome to unblock; I will, however, keep an eye on this account. Thank you for your message. --Kinu t/c 03:18, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- No worries on the time stamp confusion; I too had missed the fact that this editor had stopped vandalizing before they were issued the final warning. Had I not been asked to review my AIV decline decision, I would have never even noticed. Since you do not object, I will go ahead and unblock Markyodoul. While I agree with you that there is -based on this editor's history- little reason to hope that he will reform and become a model wikipedian, I feel that process is important and endeavor to give all editors a fair and equal shake. Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 04:23, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Debt-snowball method
Kinu, I apologize because I did not see your first note since I am new to Wikipedia (I use a different wikifarm for my personal wiki). Since I have no affiliation with the software that I put on the Wikipedia page (so I could care less about page rankings in search engines) and the Dave Ramsey article is used as a vehicle for promotion or advertising, I will edit out Dave Ramsey's info from this page and make a general reference to financial advisers and software programs that can accomplish this. It's all about getting the info to the people since debt elimination information is relevant to all of those that want to do it. I personally had a hard time finding the information I needed to accomplish a debt free lifestyle and Wikipedia should be used to let people know about it.
If you disagree with my method, then you do not need to ban me from using Wikipedia. You can revert to the previous page again and let it to continue to promote and advertise for Dave Ramsey. I just simply will advise people I know to use the software that works. After all, there is a Media War going on and I am on a mission to help 1 million people become leaders, and becoming debt free is a part of that process. Jfdco (talk) 22:18, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

If you want to delete my articles about DriverAgent, DriversHQ, and RadarSync, then you should delete the article about CNET's Version Tracker too. That article is no more relevant or significant than those are... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Samsdrivers (talk • contribs) 06:23, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- The article on VersionTracker explains why the software is notable, does not read like adspeak, and contains more than one sentence. Indeed, perhaps the VersionTracker article should be deleted, but its existence cannot be used to justify other articles which meet speedy deletion criteria. --Kinu t/c 06:25, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Majajabist Young Men Revolution
It seems tha this article has been recreated. I've tagged it with speedy template but user removed it continuously without further discussion. Thank you--NAHID 09:31, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi Kinu. In regards to this discussion, said material is being recreated, with the creator removing the G4 templates I applied. I'm wondering if salting might be necessary. Cheers, WilliamH (talk) 11:10, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks to both of you for the heads-up. I had blocked the original creator, but it looks like a sockpuppet was used to recreate the material. I see he has been rightfully blocked. I'll keep an eye on the deleted articles and salt if necessary. --Kinu t/c 23:22, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Federal Switchblade Act is not spam
This is not spam. It is a milestone in the switchblade world, & other than the discussion about it, there is nothing about the Act itself. Also the link being deleted is already posted three links above & there is no need for two links that are the same. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tm49 (talk • contribs) 00:20, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- ... and I agree with you. See how much better things go when edits are discussed and edit summaries are used, rather than repeated reinsertion of content? Thanks! --Kinu t/c 01:57, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] My Autobiographical Article
Is it possible to make a site on Wikipedia for the name Brett Ing (myself) that I will be able to show to my friends and family?
Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ClassCutie05 (talk • contribs)
- No. Please familiarize yourself with what Wikipedia is. You might be looking for something like this. --Kinu t/c 06:57, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Arthur J. Cooperman
Hi. I have recreated the page without the copyvio problem. Can you please reinsert the categories that were on the deleted page. Best, --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 16:11, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem... feel free to add/resort as needed. Thanks for doing this. --Kinu t/c 01:34, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

What the ___, why is it everything I create you go out your way to delete????? How do I get a image of the judge up that's like on a million websites?Ron John (talk) 16:30, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
How am I suppose to get an image up of the judge?????????Ron John (talk) 17:07, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- Find an image that isn't a copyrighted one. Something that can be verified to be in the public domain, something released by its author, etc. Images that are copyright violations are not tolerated and will be deleted. --Kinu t/c 18:01, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Click-to-donate sites
Hiya. Just a note regarding the AFD and your speedy tag. You were quite correct but got the wrong criteria - A3 is no content - G3 which you tagged for is Vandalism. Just so you know! Pedro : Chat 10:56, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ha... yeah, that sounds right. I think I need to get more sleep. Thanks. :P --Kinu t/c 15:10, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
Just a random "thank you" for getting rid of that obvious spam account on the Cyclone Nargis page (not sure why the "page down" on my keyboard failed me there).Somedumbyankee (talk) 05:01, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you!
Nothing quite as irritating as self-promotional band vanity accounts. Thanks for blocking him. Could I impose on you to delete his image as well? It's nothing but a self-made, self-glorifying "album cover" which has been up for far too long. Thanks. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:26, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of WellPetUSA
Hello Kinu, Apologies for not citing my initial submission for wellpet- I am new and thought the website would suffice. I have found the Animal Welfare Groups page and see how this non-profit apprporiately fits into this environment and will shorten the entry. I'd be happy to hear any suggestions. Thank you Gordonterrace (talk) 03:14, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Katie
[edit] apology
i want to apologize for my "attack". I meant everything I said I should have just expressed it in a more subtle way. now back to my defense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hiphopblogger (talk • contribs) 20:40, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Unblocked User:Finaldrive
I have unblocked User:Finaldrive following this ANI thread, so that the user may participate in this deletion review of Final Drive, which I deleted (most lately). This unblock is in no way meant as a dispute of your original block, which I think was wholly supported. If you think my unblock has been unhelpful, please feel free to reblock without asking me. [edit] Bridges on the Mississippi
I am reverting your edits to include the "New Mississippi Bridge" in the "upstream" and "downstream" succession. It likely will be there some day, but right now if you travel downstream from the McKinley Bridge the nest thing to cross the river is the Matin Luther King Bridge. --BirgitteSB 18:00, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Tag Removal & User:Thomasalazar
Kinu,
I am asking for your help, assistance, and input:
Removing tags from articles without fixing the reason that article was tagged amounts to vandalism. Please join this discussion: Wikipedia:Wikiquette_alerts#User:Thomasalazar
He is sockputting to remove tags (mostly about New Mexico high schools and politics).
You did this BLOCK on 76.113.50.208 (talk · contribs) and Thomasalazar came right behind you continues reverting articles.
This user is rude and does whatever he wants. Thanks, ~ WikiDon (talk) 06:35, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
