Nice, fast catch on the vandalism at The_Best_Page_in_the_Universe. Zab 14:20, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] User notice: temporary 3RR block on That best page thingy
- You have been temporarily blocked for violation of the three-revert rule. Please feel free to return after the block expires, but also please make an effort to discuss your changes further in the future. The duration of the block [1] is 12 hours. Please feel free to discuss this here if you wish to William M. Connolley 22:56, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry about the 3RR violation. I didn't know about it, but I know that's no excuse. At any rate, I knew something would eventually have to give. There has been an edit war going on between several users and 24.57.68.108. This user has been aggressively editing the Maddox parodies section of External links in order to include his website (www.thethirdbestpageintheuniverse) and exclude others. I didn't really know what to do about it, and I hoped eventually an editor would have noticed this user was partaking in malicious practices and ban him. To date, this has not happened. Not only is this user's behavior exceedingly self-aggrandizing, but his site is also largely plagiarized. If you are not offended by harsh language, you can see proof of his plagiarism here:

Now that I know about 3RR, I will avoid future violations. For your part, I hope you will look into curbing the behavior of user 24.57.68.108.

- Since you have indicated you will abide by 3RR in future, I've unblocked you. Its somewhat symbolic, I know, since you're near the end anyway. How to try to solve this sort of problem without just reverting? Use the talk page, or if that fails there is WP:RFC where you can post a message about article disputes. William M. [edit] Do not just blank talk page discussions
The only right way to remove stuff from a talk page is to archive it. See Wikipedia:How to archive a talk page. Thank you.Sasquatch t|c 21:03, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Warning
3RR is a limit, not an entitlement. As you are perfectly well aware by now, those links are not welcome in that article. Add them again and you may be blocked for disruption. Just zis Guy you know? 21:06, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Blocked
You have been temporarily blocked for violation of the three-revert rule. Please feel free to return after the block expires, but also please make an effort to discuss your changes further in the future. |
Note that you may not use alternate or anonymous accounts to evade the three revert rule, as you clearly have done in this case. If you do this again you may be blocked indefinitely. Also, please do not remove warnings from your Talk page. Just zis Guy you know? 21:50, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- It would be nice to know how long I am blocked for. It would also be nice if you spelled revert correctly in the phrase "evade the three revert rule". Don't they give you guys form letters to cut and paste? Floyddoorz 22:30, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's for 24 hours. If you notice, the first warning was a template one, but that JzG had written out the second paragraph by hand. Hbdragon88 22:18, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- Unless he's on the web from Nintendo DS, I would imagine that he typed it rather than writing it out by hand. Floyddoorz 22:30, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- I have a great idea for you: go back in time to when you were about three, burn the fingers of your left hand to the bone, have them in bandages for about 18 months, and then see how well you type when you grow up. Actually you could leave out all of this apart from "grow up" and the message would remain the same. It has been made abundantly clear that your links are unwelcome in that article, so stop adding them. It really is that simple. Just zis Guy you know? 10:18, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
