A movement to have Mr. Jimbo Wales, founder of Wikipedia, express gratitude by means of replying to this page and posting a small thumbnail pie on his main page stating "Thank-you for the contributions and tireless efforts" by we the people.

Support

  1. Support We the people need a thanks --Kin Khan 00:20, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
  2. Support I'm sure Jimbo has better things to do with his time, but this bit of sillyness is sufficiently original and well executed to deserve positive recognition. -- RoySmith (talk) 03:44, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Oppose

  1. Pointless. Jimbo doesn't need to do anything. NSLE (T+C+CVU) 03:07, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  2. Strong Oppose Word, NSLE. I want Jimbo to spend time improving Wikipedia, not wasting time doing this. --munboy 03:18, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  3. Oppose I want a center cut honey glazed ham and a card. Plus a personal phone call, but not too late because I need to get up early. Rx StrangeLove 03:17, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  4. Oppose Jimbo has better things to do with his time. Wikipedia is first and foremost a project to build an encyclopedia, and you can do that if you want, or not, if you don't want to. And why is this called Sysops Run the Place? You think Admins are the only valuable contributors to Wikipedia? That's just asinine. - Pureblade | Θ 03:41, 22 December 2005 (UTC) (Not an admin)
  5. Strong Oppose It's very annoying that you're spamming our talk pages. Jimbo need not waste his time with this nonsense. --Kmf164 03:48, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  6. Oppose. I've been involved with various volunteer projects since before there was a Wikipedia -- in fact, since before there was an Internet. The first rule any volunteer should learn is, "Never expect gratitude." If you choose to volunteer, do so for other reasons. JamesMLane 20:00, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Neutral

  1. Neutral Seems kind of pointless. I vote neutral. ß 02:57, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  2. While Jimbo hasn't put a pie on his user space, I'm pretty sure that we count with his thanks. Titoxd(?!? - help us) 02:59, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  3. Neutral Why do we need Jim or any other person's gratitude? We do this because we like doing it. If Jimbo does something to WP that we Admins don't like, we walk. Then chaos will reign. So, who really rules? ≈ jossi ≈ t@
  4. Neutral I get thank-you's enough from my peers. BD2412 T 03:11, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  5. I don't do this for Jimbo. Both Jimbo and I work equally hard to create the ultimate compendium of human knowledge. Owen× 03:13, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  6. Doesn't matter to me. I don't even like Jimbo. I contribute for the sake of the encyclopedia, and that's its own reward. Everyking 03:15, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  7. Neutral I think Everyking said it best. I do this, and I reap my own rewards. D-Rock (Yell at D-Rock) 20:44, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
  8. Neutral - Sure it is Jimbo's ball and I am happy he is sharing it. But then, I don't need a pat on the back from him or anyone else.

What the hell is this?
This is rather silly, and spamming all admins is downright obnoxious. Knock it off. android79 03:34, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

In your opinion. --Kin Khan (UTC)
It's an opinion you asked for. There it is. android79 03:41, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Why me?
I got "spammed" and am not an admin. Don't know if I'm unique in this or not. D-Rock (Yell at D-Rock) 20:44, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

It is very simple. You were randomly selected by the rules of random selection. --Kin Khan(UTC)

Who is Kin Khan?
A better question might be "Who the hell is Kin Khan (contribs)"?? BD2412 T 03:51, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

The account was clearly created for running this poll, but it's not a sock of an admin. Editing pattern shows a user with some, but very limited previous experience. Owen× 03:54, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Some experience, and a random victim generator... --Eddi (Talk) 05:01, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Friendly Poll
I never knew that a friendly poll to reach concesus over something that would take 17 seconds or less to do would turn into such a lively little pot of discussion. Thank-you for your time. --Kin Khan 22:05, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Raul's Law
This whole page is redundant with Raul's 1st law of Wikipedia Raul654 06:55, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

Meaning?
Don't understand what that is supposed to mean. novacatz 02:13, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

It is very simple. It is a poll asking whether or not we should go forward with the movement, and make have a pie placed on Jimbo's page. No biggy. --Kin Khan (UTC)
