Note: Though it states in the Guide to writing better articles that generally fictional articles should be written in present tense, all Tolkien legendarium-related articles that cover in-universe material must be written in past tense. [edit] Period of Reign

There appears to be discrepancies between the dates listed after each King of Arnor. If I understand correctly (r.) indicates ruled or reigned. However some of these dates appear to be birth/death. For example for:

Elendil, son of Amandil. He reigned from 3320–3441 S.A. Isildur reigned S.A. 3441–T.A. 2 Valandil r. T.A. 2–249

the end date corresponds to the beginning date for the next heir. But starting with Eldacar r. 87–339 the dates don't match up as this appears to be the birth death for Eldacar.

This error carries over until Eärendur where it seems to be correct again.

Looking through the wiki entries for the others and seeing as how I don't actually have a Tolkien reference, I'll make the change but someone much more knowledgeable than I please confirm.

[edit] This l ist is odd.

This list is very odd, in that it goes from Eärendur straight to Elessar, and only then goes backwards and lists the Kings of Arthedain. I would add that my understanding is that the later Kings of Arthedain were referred to simply as "Kings of Arnor," as a result of the line of Isildur dying out in Rhudaur and Cardolan. john k 21:36, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
