I have seen a reference to these being the "recognized Iroijlaplap (king or paramount chief) and owner of the Northern Atolls of the Marshall Islands', Ratak Chain" - what was their status - who recognised them ?

Both recognized by the Republic of the Marshall Islands as Iroijlaplaps. The RMI constitution allows for Hermios' status to continue. Their Iroijlaplap title is inherited which includes land rights. It would be nice to see some of this in the Iroijlaplap page. Harvardy 19:42, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
The anti-fraud site Quatloos describes EnenKio as a complete scam. Chonak 07:39, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, its a scam (unsigned)
- The Quatloos article only features one side of the argument. The main source it cites, an article in a Marshall Islands daily, later ran a response letter from EninKio that critized the daily's piece. Yet the article does not mention it. Also, the Quat piece is factually in error about EninKio leadership and seems to argue that since their attorney rep is shady looking, then EninKio must be shady too. Pretty shaky ground to lay a claim of fraud, IMO! EninKio's claims to the island appear to have at least some merit to them; irrespective, I added the section about their claims into this Wiki article. CyberAnth 05:08, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
