Kintaro

Kintaro is a Japanese first name meaning "golden boy". Several characters, fictional and historical, have been called Kintaro :
- Kintarō, legendary child, folk hero from Japanese folklore. He certainly was Sakata no Kintoki, samurai from the Heian period.
- Kintaro dolls are offered to Japanese children during the Tango no Sekku holiday, in order to inspire in them the bravery and strength of the legendary Kintarō child.
- Kintarō-ame is a traditional candy with a cylinder shape still produced in Japan and coming from the Edo period. Wherever it is cut, the cylinder's cross section permanently shows Kintaro's face.
- Golden Boy, a manga and anime character.
- Kintaro, character from the Mortal Kombat fighting game.
- Kintaro Okamura, Japanese botanist.
- Kintaro Hattori, founder of the Seiko company.
