Kinsey Lowe

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kinsey Lowe is the accomplished film and entertainment editor and columnist for the Los Angeles Times. Responsible for the Kinsey Report, Lowe's reporting style delivers information briskly and hot, promoting a tradition often accredited to such publishing luminaries as H.L. Mencken. As an editor Lowe's intention was always to let the writer carry the story, so that the article was an entertainment piece onto itself, as well as a resource for information.

Lowe's tenure with the Times acclaimed Calendar section was also the driving force behind the publication of Hollywood box office numbers as a weekly reporting feature, allowing studios to play each other in a war for dominance on movie opening weekend receipts.
