Kini is a kini family name used by the Goud Saraswat Brahmins (GSB for short) of the Konkan region of India.

Those who cultivated herbs were Kinvis, presently called Kini or Keni.Most of them now live in the Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi districts of Karnataka,India. .
