Kingscote railway station is a railway station on the Bluebell Railway.
Kingscote is a country station on the Bluebell Railway. It is currently the northern terminus, pending completion of the extension to East Grinstead (currently planned for 2009 / 2010). There is a small goods yard with two wagons used by the Friends of Kingscote Station group for storing supplies for maintenance on the station.
The station has two operable platforms, with most trains using platform 1 next to the main entrance where a connecting bus takes passengers onward to East Grinstead (planning restrictions prevent car parking facilities being provided). Platform 2 is only usually used by the Golden Arrow dining train and on special event weekends. Behind this is the picnic area and refreshment cabin.
Whereas the line as a whole was closed finally in 1958, this station did not reopen (along with Barcombe) after the 1955 closure which was subsequently ruled illegal. As it was not mentioned in the original Parliamentary act BR had no obligation to call there. The Bluebell completed the extension from West Hoathly in 1994.
