Definition of "Kings" and "Roads" in the anime/manga Air Gear
[edit] Kings and Roads
'Kings' are the most advanced users in the AT world, each possessing a unique 'Regalia' as their proof of their status. Regalias are special ATs specifically engineered to work in conjunction with the King's 'road'. Though there are many roads in the Air Gear world, only the eight riders whose roads are dependent on air can be considered Kings (despite this there are currently eleven recognized "Kings" in the manga). As such all regalia utilize a force known as the "Infinity Atmosphere", allowing the King to utilize some part of the air to create a powerful attack. Although some people can be recognized with having the power of a King, a person is not officially recognized without a Regalia. Some roads which do not have Kings are the Apollo Road of Aeon Clock and Spitfire, and the Smell Road of Onigiri, if that can be called a road, at least.

- There appears to be confusion with regards to the position of Sky King and the Wing Road. The king of the Wing Road is the Wind King. The status of Wind King is not a prerequisite to becoming the Sky King, however because the Wing Road is considered the "Purest" road most expect the Wind King to become Sky King. It is currently assumed that no one has been crowned as the Sky King in the past. Sora Takeuchi was close, but failed due to the betrayal of Kilik. It is said that all eight kings would like the one who walks the Wing Road to be king because all regalia depend on the wind to function.

- There is much speculation on the Sky King title and its abilities . Including the ability to nullify all 8 regalia's infinity atmosphere attacks which would correspond to the Sky King's title "supremacy" over all 8 road's and regalia's. Ringo once revealed that Ikki possesses two passive traits known as 'Trick Pass' and 'Hawk Eye', both considered attributes necessary for a candidate to be Sky King. Sora Takeuchi was the prime candidate for the Sky King title but with Kilik's betrayal and crippling of Sora the next best candidate for the title went to Ikki Minami. Kilik's theft of the Wind Regalia dealt with Sora's attempt to retrieve the Sky Regalia.

- Another point in regard to the regalia of the Gem King. When previously owned by Kilik, the road was called the Gaia Road. However, when Nike obtained the regalia from Kilik, the road changed to the Jade Road. This is because Nike learned to grasp and manipulate the wind like Sora as a rider while growing up, which consequently lead to a fusion with the Gaia Road to create a new road, the Jade Road.

- As of right now the Horn King is the only one who either does not possess a road at all or has not revealed the name of his Road. Some fan's have named the Horn king's road as "The Horn Road", "Torro Road", "Bull Road", or "Dragon Road" weather one of these will be real is unknown.

- though Akito/Agito/lindo was once/current Fang King, untill now they never seen wearing Fang Regalia even in battle.

- the 8 roads in sleeping forest besides the thorn road are sub-roads to the original eight which means that the regalia they use are copied from the original 8 roads and because of that the regalias can't keep up with the riders performance and a tuner is needed, but they reject the ideas of tuners
