[edit] History
Kings began in North Versailles, Pennsylvania in 1967 as Kings Country Shoppes. This name was later changed to Kings Family Restaurants to indicate the establishment was, in fact, a restaurant. By the 1970s the number of restaurants had grown to 7, and 21 by the 1980s. As of 2006, there are 34 locations throughout Pennsylvania and 1 in Wintersville, Ohio.
Since 1987, Kings has sponsored the Kings Junior Golf Tournament Series along with the Tri-State Professional Golfing Association.
Kings donates to many charity organizations, including the Leukemia Society of Western Pennsylvania, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western Pennsylvania.
[edit] Menu
The menu at Kings is typical American cuisine. Kings is known for their ice cream, which is available in eight different flavors. Kings is also famous for their Frownie Brownies.
