[edit] Summary

Skeletor and Kobra Khan venture deep into the caves below Snake Mountain. Skeletor discovers a pool of energy deep in the caves. Next to it, is an inscription in the ancient Snake tongue, which Kobra Khan says is of the ancient Snake Man language, which even his own people cannot read anymore. Skeletor reads it magically, and discovers that the pool holds the secret of King Hiss, the legendary leader of the Snake Men. Skeletor, intrigued, energizes the pool with the Havok Staff and Hiss emerges. The Sorceress alerts Prince Adam, telling him that Hiss had been banished by the Council of Elders many centuries ago when he was trying to conquer Eternia. Adam changes into He-Man, flies to Snake Mountain on his Jet Sled. There, he finds Skeletor and Kobra Khan attacking Hiss. He-Man defeats them suspiciously easily, only to find that Hiss is actually a Snake Man in disguise. Hiss hypnotizes He-Man with his eyes, and he awakens by the pool. Now He-Man has to watch Skeletor and King Hiss combining their powers to free King Hiss' whole army from the timeless dimension, but only two Snake Men appear: Tung Lashor and Rattlor. Now King Hiss wants to use the power of He-Man's sword to free his underlings. He rams the sword into the pool. But He-Man manages to break free and cause enough confusion among the bad guys to get his sword back in the very last moment. He seals the pool with a boulder and rushes away. King Hiss and the two summoned Snake Men unite to seek vengeance. Skeletor orders Kobra Khan to join them and act as his spy within the Snake Men.

[edit] Notes

  • Kobra Khan mentions that Rattlor and Tung Lashor are from the Evil Horde. This was likely done to fill the gap with the She-Ra TV series, where Rattlor and Tung Lashor appear as members of the Evil Horde.
  • In page 10, King Hiss confuses the Power Sword with the Sword of the Ancients, an identical sword appearing in the minicomic "Masks of Power". Later, in the same page, he names the Power Sword with its proper name.
