King Mob is a fictional character, a terrorist created by Grant Morrison for The Invisibles. The character's name is inspired by the Situationist group King Mob, as well as Morrison himself (as a part of a sigil to improve his life.) He is also Gideon Stargrave, one of Morrison's early creations. Some elements of his personality, especially his Gideon persona, are based on the fictional Jerry Cornelius, created by Michael Moorcock.
[edit] Fictional character biography
King Mob is the leader of the cell of Invisibles at the beginning of the series. In 'Invisible Vol 2' #2, he (willingly) loses the role (and with it his iconic jacket). He is an anarchist and an assassin, and also possibly an author, although - as revealed under mental torture - this may be a fictional part of a detailed and sophisticated alter ego. King Mob is responsible for recruiting the young Liverpudlian 'Jack Frost' to his Invisible Cell, and is friend and lover to Ragged Robin. He is a practised Chaos Magician and time traveller.
