King Leopold

King Leopold usually refers to one of these Belgian kings:

  • Leopold I of Belgium (1790-1865), first king of the Belgians;
  • Leopold II of Belgium (1835-1909), known (among other things) for the exploitation of Congo and death of millions of its citizens;
  • Leopold III of Belgium (1901-1983), known (among other things) for the monarchical crisis surrounding his return from captivity after the second World War.
