King Kekaulike High School, located in Pukalani, Hawaii, opened its doors to 385 freshmen on September 2, 1995 and serves students from Maui. The school was opened by Principal Susan Scofield, who is still leading the school today.[citation needed] Kekaulike's motto is "The King's Heritage", written by Louis Bisquera.[citation needed] The school colors are teal and black.[citation needed] "Class colors" vary by graduation year.[citation needed]

In September 1996, the enrollment was 763 students with a student body of freshmen and sophomores. Two years later, the school served 1,311 students in four grades.[citation needed]

The Kekaulike football team recently captured the Division II Championship over Kauai High School.[citation needed] The school mascot is called a "Na Ali'i".[citation needed]
